It's not easy.
Not by a long shot.
At times you want to give up on them. You cannot figure out why they act they way they do. Self destruction, anger, low self worth, and layers of anxiousness.
Then, you remember.
You remember what it was like to be that age. All those feelings come back and you being to wonder how you yourself got out of it at all.
Time to put that self reflective moment to good use.
Someone needs you.
Developing self confidence as a youth is perhaps the most important accomplishment for that age.
Why? Because if someone can trust in their own ideas, abilities, and morality, then they are much less likely to blindly follow others.
There is nothing wrong with being a follower: so long as someone follows because they can evaluate their actions and consequences themselves. However, many youth follow others because they do not trust themselves to be leaders or act independently.
This can lead to youth getting stuck in the 'wrong crowd'.
At Little Forest we provide the resources, the mentors and the tools to help build self confidence in youth.
